Austria is keeping things super simple this year with an intimate staging of Vincent Bueno’s song, Amen. The staging is dark, and there are spotlights vertically on either side of Vincent, running high up in the arena. Vincent moves further down stage throughout the song, but there really isn’t much movement in the performance. The lights are the main source of movement. At the end of the song at the peak, we see some backing screens in use, although again, a simple flashing pattern in block colours.
Vincent is wearing a black sparkly jacket with a black top and pants underneath. The darkness really gives his voice a chance to be front and centre. His vocals are strong, with the potential to be even stronger. Being one of few ballads this year, this could stand out and we could see Austria in the final due to the simple staging and strong vocals.
